Clinicians who bill Medicare Part B and meet the low-volume threshold — more than $90,000 in Medicare Part B allowed charges, more than 200 Medicare Part B patients, or more than 200 covered professional services — must participate in MIPS.
What is the MIPS payment adjustment?
MIPS performance determines a positive, negative, or neutral payment adjustment applied to Medicare Part B reimbursements two years after the performance year. High performers can earn additional exceptional performance bonuses.
